Queer Check-Ins

Meredith Talusan wrote a beautiful article on a project that I am part of.

““Queer Check-Ins”…curated by the poet Franny Choi, brings together 12 other queer and trans Asian-American poets to read their poetry over videos drawn from their lives. Part of an ongoing digital exhibition called “A Day in the Queer Life of Asian Pacific America,” “Queer Check-Ins” puts us as viewers in the position of listener, confidante, and friend, yet the videos also invite us to ponder our own relationship to American life. In this way, they serve dual functions: as a means for queer, Asian Pacific, and other marginalized people to check in with ourselves, and for those who care about us to reflect on the state of our existence.”
