I found out that I made this list a couple mornings ago. I was lying in bed as I usually do, looking at my email in the morning. And I saw this.
Goodreads Members’ Most Anticipated Fall Books
When we think of Goodreads, we think of that place where everybody can say anything about any book they want. In some ways that’s kind of intimidating. But Goodreads is also an amazing and vibrant community. And the time that I’ve spent there has been full of so many people offering their support, opinions, and insight.
When I’m working on a new book or story, it’s important for me not to put the cart before the horse. Basically, I should write the best book I can, and then let readers say what they will. So, as I’m writing, I don’t check Goodreads too much.
But that doesn’t mean I’m not grateful. I’m continually amazed that communities of readers, such as the Goodreads members, are so supportive of their favorite books and authors and so eager to read things that are new. And so far, by trusting my own stories and the messages and books I want to bring to my readers—I think I’ve brought something positive to communities. *fingers crossed*
I’m so grateful to anyone who considers reading my work, let alone reacts to it. For those of you who have really enjoyed my work, thank you so much. For those of you who’ve tried it and it wasn’t your thing, thank you so much, as well!
Take very good care, and may you all have a wonderful autumn full of great reading.
